Bio

Ulana Zahajkewycz is a native of New Jersey and former resident of beautiful Minnesota. She has received both her BFA (Montclair State University) and MFA (Minneapolis College of Art and Design) in illustration. Some of her work has appeared in the following publications and websites: USA/Sy-Fy Network, Runner's World, Common Boundaries, Print, Diversion, New York Free Press, Top Shelf Comics, Girl's Life, Four Walls, Pawswalk 2000, International Tattoo Art, Sothebys.com, American Illustration, Los Angeles Society of Illustrators, CMYK, Minnesota History Center, The New York Times, and City Pages.

Ulana has exhibited her work at various venues, including the CBGB's gallery, Max Fish, Tin Man Alley, the Soo Visual Arts Center, the Westbeth Gallery, Twist Gallery, Montclair State University, the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Lunar Boy Gallery, and at the Woodstock 99 Festival.

Ulana's likes: Creamed spinach, small, chunky dogs (also referred to as “little guys”) and Japanese toys.

Ulana's dislikes: Tailgaters, cat breath, and homogenized towns.

Ulana has a special interest in illustrating dreams and nightmares. If you have an interesting dream to tell, she'd love to hear it! The weirder the better!

Ulana, that's pronounced You-la-na.
